memorial service

We can arrange memorial services in a variety of formats to meet your needs.

End of the Mourning Period / Annual Memorial Services

In the Buddhist tradition, the mourning period ends after the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh weeks, and it is customary to hold a memorial service on the 100th day thereafter.
Annual memorial services are typically held as follows: the first anniversary in the first year, the third anniversary at the end of the second year, followed by the seventh, thirteenth, seventeenth, twenty-third, twenty-seventh, and thirty-third anniversaries, the 50th, and the 100th anniversary, in that order.

In Shinto rituals, the ceremony is held the day after the death, followed by the 10-day memorial, the 50-day purification rite, and then the 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year memorials.
In Christian and Catholic traditions, memorial Masses are held on the 7th and 30th days.
In Protestant traditions, a memorial service is held one month after the death.
